The Great Wall of Royal Wolf
Royal Wolf was proud to support the inaugural XVenture Corporate Challenge with the supply of a unique obstacle for participants to overcome.
The XVenture Corporate Challenge was held in Cairns in September 2011. This 4 day event featured 14 corporate teams from across Australia competing for pride and the chance to present a $50,000 cheque to the Steve Waugh Foundation. Each team consists of 6 members who compete in a series of mental and physical challenges.
For episode 6, Royal Wolf provided 15 x 20ft shipping containers that were positioned as single and double stacked containers creating the challenge known as ‘Wall Street’. In this challenge teams had to work together to climb on top of a 2.9m high container, use a zip line and pulley system to get across to another container and climb down a cargo net on the other side. It sounded fairly simple, but as with all reality TV shows, there was a catch. Each team had to carry a bucket full of water throughout the obstacles with severe time penalties imposed for amounts of water lost along the way.
Although not an everyday use for a shipping container, the XVenture Corporate Challenge is the perfect example of the endless possibilities the simple shipping container can provide.
