Shipping Container Surveyor - Banyo

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for the timely and cost-effective survey, minor repair and maintenance of Royal Wolf containers. This role would be a perfect fit for someone eager to learn the ins and outs of a busy industrial business. Individuals who have experience working in a container yard as a repairer or forklift operator should definitely apply, but if you are keen to learn, have basic IT skills and an eye for detail, that’s all it takes. 

Key Responsibilities

Key tasks and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Ensure all inbound and on ground RW containers are inspected against RW criteria and submit appropriate and accurate estimates for repair or cleaning
• Take photographs of all container damages
• Ensure work orders accurately reflect the work required to be completed 
• Undertake minor repairs / fixes
• Ensure all refrigerated (reefer) containers meets RW repair criteria 
• Provide backup support to Repairer and Forklift Operator as needed

About You

What you will bring to this role:

• The ability to organise and plan own work outcomes and handle multiple tasks
• Demonstrates a pro-active, professional and customer (internal/external) service focused attitude and communication style
• Able to work independently or as part of a team with a can do attitude

Desirable, but not essential: 

• Metal Trade Qualification 
• Experience in a metal trade industry
• LF Forklift Certification, or willing to obtain
