MEET YOUR WOLF PACK – JUNE RIDDOCH, PROCESS AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT OFFICER

June Riddoch

It’s been two decades since June Riddoch landed her first role with Royal Wolf, and she’s loved every minute.

A PATH FORWARD

June Riddoch was simply looking for employment along the train line when she applied for a role in accounts receivable at Royal Wolf in 2001. She couldn’t have anticipated what would follow: a tenure of 20 years and a variety of engaging roles. “From accounts receivable and then overseeing the Administration Managers in the business,” she recalls. From there, June took on a position working for the Chief Executive Officer and the Manager for the Road and Rail. But it’s her current role as process and development support officer, which she’s held for the past decade, that is her favourite.

Enjoying variety in her day and putting her people skills to use, June is in her element welcoming and training newcomers to the company. “It gives me a chance to ‘blow our own horn’ and further clarify that they have chosen the right company to work for – without forgetting how lucky we are to have them on the team,” she says. “I love talking to people and if anyone's got a problem, I love to listen and build them up.”

PEOPLE FIRST

June has witnessed a lot of positive change throughout her time with Royal Wolf, including its impressive scale. “When I started with accounts receivable 20 years ago, there were three of us in the team,” she recalls. “I've seen it come from a very small company to the largest container company in Australia – we've got about 280 staff now, across Australia and New Zealand.”

Despite the rapid growth, she’s adamant that the company’s people-first approach has never wavered. “The culture here hasn't changed a great deal,” says June. “Royal Wolf is so supportive of women and equality. Confidence shines through employees who are treated with respect, whatever their gender.”
