ROYAL WOLF SHOWCASE: SEACLIFF SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB

Problem

Situated several hundred metres from the beach on top of a hill, Seacliff Surf Life Saving Club was too far from the beach for staff to quickly and effectively respond to safety incidents. The distance from the beach also made it difficult for staff to transport and store their equipment.

Solution

We created a functional containerised surf life saving club, with a custom observation deck, a storage container for vehicles and boats, and a first aid room complete with a shower and toilet. The facility utilises three 20-foot shipping containers at the deck level and a fourth 20-foot shipping container modified into an observation deck that sits canter levered on top of the three containers below. The new surf life saving club sits on piles on the beach, enabling quicker response times and equipment storage that’s closer to shore.

Outcome

4 x 20-foot containers, along with a set of stairs for the upper observation deck level.
